Job summary

Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas is seeking a Coding Manager to lead the Hospital and Physician Practice Coding departments, ensuring accurate documentation and timely coding across inpatient and outpatient services.

You will collaborate with physicians, oversee audits, mentor staff, and implement system-wide coding changes, including ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and documentation improvements, while maintaining data integrity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Associates degree in Health Information Management/Health Information Technology, or 3 years of managerial experience in Health Information Management or Coding
• Proven knowledge base in complete and accurate clinical documentation in all healthcare settings and for all healthcare disciplines.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, E/M coding and related systems.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P or CPC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of Hospital Coding Department to ensure workflow and data integrity.
• Collaborate with physicians on coding and documentation guidelines.
• Conduct coding audits and correct errors; ensure audit reports are accurate.
• Mentor coding staff and provide education on best practices.
• Lead process improvements in the Coding department.
