Job summary

Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas is seeking a Sr. IT Telecom & Clinical Communications Engineer to own and modernize the hospital’s voice and clinical communications environment.

You will lead 8x8 cloud voice administration, nurse call and emergency alert platforms, paging and POTS life-safety lines, and coordinate with the Network team on QoS and VLAN segmentation. On-call rotation and after-hours support are part of the role.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in telecommunications and Unified Communications in a mission-critical environment.
• Ownership of enterprise voice services, including call routing design and operational governance.
• Experience partnering with network engineering to define QoS and segmentation for voice and clinical endpoints.
• Strong documentation discipline (runbooks, inventories, SOPs).
• Proven ability to lead incidents and vendors through escalation and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Voice and Telephony Platform Ownership (8x8): provisioning, extensions, call routing, auto attendants, queues, voicemail, reporting, and call recording configurations.
• Standardize and maintain call flow designs for critical departments and after-hours routing.
• Drive operational hygiene and cost control via license and voicemail hygiene and accurate inventories.
