Job summary

Eon is hiring a Senior Support Engineer to join a global team delivering top-tier technical support for its Cloud Backup Posture Management (CBPM) platform. You’ll troubleshoot customer issues via logs, networking, and system administration, and scale support through coding and automation.

The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, incident management, and hands-on problem solving with Go, Python, or JavaScript. EST hours and a strong customer-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on, technical experience in customer support, technical support, system administration, or related customer-facing role.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience reading or debugging code in Go, Python, or JavaScript.
• Proficiency with command-line tools and Linux operating environments.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tooling.
• Familiarity with REST APIs or GraphQL.
• Knowledge of basic web technologies (HTTP, HTML, DNS).
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing, VPNs, VLANs, Peering, Load Balancing).
• Understanding of relational databases.
• Understanding of Cloud security constructs like IAM roles.

Responsibilities

• Own, troubleshoot, and resolve customer technical issues using collaboration and documented best practices.
• Identify cases that require escalation (technical or strategic).
• Create, maintain, and coordinate incident management requests to product or engineering.
• Design and implement scalable solutions to improve the support offering through automation.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours, holidays, and weekend coverage.
• Support and improve the CBPM platform through logs and system administration.
