Job summary

EY is seeking a senior cloud/infrastructure engineer to lead AI-enabled service foundations and production-readiness efforts. You will serve as a hands-on technical authority, shaping architectures, improving observability, and guiding cost-aware scaling across multiple use cases.

This Challenger program role emphasizes solving hard distributed-system problems, with travel up to 50% and hybrid collaboration across diverse teams. A strong track record in automation and SRE is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• 9–12+ years of relevant cloud/infrastructure experience.
• Experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, platform, or SRE capabilities.
• Hands-on with infrastructure as code, modern runtimes, networking, and delivery automation.
• Production reliability: observability, capacity planning and recovery testing.
• Incident leadership: investigating failures and durable remediation.
• Automation judgment: strong coding skills to validate AI-generated outputs.
• Cross-team influence and mentoring without formal delivery ownership.

Responsibilities

• Build shared cloud foundations and deployment automation for speed and consistency.
• Use AI-assisted engineering responsibly while reviewing, debugging, and testing code.
• Guide complex designs, reviewing architectures and releases for trade-offs.
• Strengthen production readiness with defined evidence before launch.
• Set reliability practices and service objectives with observability standards.
• Make cost and capacity visible to guide scaling and architecture decisions.
• Resolve difficult failures with deep investigations across distributed services.
• Prove resilience through performance tests and rollback paths.
• Turn lessons into reusable capabilities and runbooks for ongoing ownership.
• Raise engineering capability by coaching engineers and sharing best practices.
