Job summary

Archer, in collaboration with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, seeks an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to support 24/7 operations for OCI Sovereign Cloud. You will tackle complex incidents, automate toil, and drive scalable infrastructure across global teams.

The role emphasizes change management, operational excellence, and hands-on scripting in Python/Bash within a Linux/Unix environment. On-call duties, nights, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and location requirements with TS/SCI w/ Poly may apply
• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent work experience
• Experience in managing complex, large-scale distributed systems and change management processes

Responsibilities

• Serve as escalation point for junior SREs during high-impact incidents.
• Manage complex manual Change Management tickets with service teams.
• On-board new services and tools, ensuring operational readiness and integration.
• Mentor and train SREs to strengthen team capability and confidence.
• Create and maintain clear operational documentation and runbooks.
• Identify manual work and drive automation to reduce toil.
• Automate tasks to enable continuous delivery and availability.
• Develop safer, more efficient deployment and incident response practices.
• Complete change requests to enable new functionality and maintain realm compliance.
• Ensure timely resolution of incidents, service requests, and changes.
• Collaborate with global service and engineering teams.
• Define and drive change management, CI, and deployment best practices.
• Help design real-world production architectures with scalability in mind.
• Troubleshoot large, interconnected systems methodically.
