Job summary

Oracle Corporation is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join OCI Incident Response. You will be part of a globally distributed team focused on detecting, triaging, and rapidly mitigating service-impacting events, minimizing downtime and improving availability.

You will work AMER hours on a rotating roster, including occasional weekends and holidays, contributing to major incident handling and automation projects to strengthen Oracle Cloud services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years in SRE/DevOps/Systems Eng.
• Public cloud operations exp (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI).
• Proven Major Incident Management experience.
• Experience with automation and orchestration principles.
• Experience with at least one OO programming language.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Experience with infra tooling and CI/CD, logs, debugging.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex infrastructure incidents to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate SMEs and service leaders during major incidents.
• Apply cloud design patterns to mitigate incidents.
• Document incident data to enable SOPs and knowledge base.
• Review dashboards and address anomalies.
• Drive automation to improve incident management.
• Define architecture of large-scale distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product teams on operational requirements.
• Escalate when SOPs are insufficient.
