Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to provide cloud operations for national security realms. You will design, implement, and optimize large-scale distributed systems, with a focus on availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services.

The role requires working a 24/7 shift with on-call duties, including nights and weekends. You will mentor SREs, improve automation, and collaborate with global teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in cloud operations, site reliability engineering, or NOC/Operations.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix internals and networking.
• Experience with change management and incident response in a mission‑critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as escalation point for junior SREs during incidents.
• Manage complex Change Management tickets with service teams to minimize disruption.
• Onboard new services and tools, ensuring operational readiness and integration.
• Provide mentorship and training to SREs.
• Create documentation for operational processes and system support.
• Automate repetitive tasks to reduce toil and enable continuous delivery and availability.
• Identify unsafe practices and design safer, more effective solutions.
• Complete change requests to enable new functionality and maintain realm compliance.
• Collaborate with global service and engineering teams.
• Define and drive CI/CD and deployment best practices.
• Help design real-world production architectures and scalable systems.
