Job summary

Broadridge Financial Solutions is seeking a Sr. Lead Software Engineer (Java) to design, develop, and implement scalable, cloud-based solutions. You will lead initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive architecture and delivery across core business systems.

The role emphasizes AWS serverless architectures, API security, CI/CD pipelines, and data processing workflows, with a focus on performance and reliability in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8–10+ years of hands-on software development or application architecture.
• Proficiency in Java, Node.js, and Python development.
• Strong AWS experience, especially API Gateway, Lambda, Glue, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, S3 and EC2.
• Experience with API security, authentication, and management best practices.
• PostgreSQL database design and query optimization experience.
• Angular knowledge is a plus.
• Solid CI/CD practices, DevOps tools (Terraform, Git, Jenkins, Chef).
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and prior team-lead/mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development initiatives by writing maintainable code and performing code reviews.
• Design and implement AWS-based serverless architectures with enterprise scalability and security.
• Utilize AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, Glue, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, S3, EC2.
• Develop and optimize data processing workflows and event-driven pipelines.
• Migrate on‑premises apps to AWS using serverless and microservices patterns.
• Improve development standards, frameworks, and best practices.
• Collaborate across teams to align architecture, development, and operations.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines with Git, Terraform, and Chef.
• Tune performance, troubleshoot, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence.
