Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to guide cloud architecture and engineering direction across hybrid environments, spanning on‑prem to AWS. You will influence security, verification, and integration in regulated settings and collaborate in Scaled Agile teams.

Qualifications

• Proven cloud architecture and technical planning experience for hybrid on‑prem to AWS systems.
• Hands‑on with ECS, EKS, and OpenShift, including Kubernetes, Helm, operators, policies, routes, and pipelines.
• Track record in integration, V&V, and fielding for regulated environments (FISMA High / FedRAMP High).
• Security architecture experience with segmentation and control mapping to SSP and ATO.
• Networking expertise across ingress, ALB, WAF, PrivateLink, endpoints, and enterprise access patterns.
• Migration of containerized workloads from on‑prem to AWS with data connectivity and rollback planning.
• GovCloud and multi‑account VPC design including DMZ and private tiers.
• DevSecOps toolchain experience and AI‑assisted engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical planning and cloud architecture for hybrid on‑prem to AWS across multiple clusters.
• Conduct platform trade studies and sizing for ECS, EKS, and OpenShift with cost/effort modeling.
• Drive integration, verification, and fielding within secure boundaries (FISMA FedRAMP).
• Design security architecture including trust boundaries and ATO mapping.
• Engineer networking patterns (ALB, WAF, PrivateLink, endpoints) and cloud integration.
• Provide design guidance to developers and testers within Scaled Agile teams.
• Oversee Java/microservices cloud system design and integration.
• Apply DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, SBOM, image signing, and secrets management.
• Incorporate AI for coding, requirements, testing, and debugging.
