Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a remote contract role. You will guide cloud architecture and technical planning across hybrid on‑prem to AWS, including GovCloud, for secure, scalable systems in regulated environments.

Responsibilities include platform trade studies, integration, verification, and fielding with a focus on security and DevSecOps. Active US citizenship and ability to work on a W2 basis are required.

Qualifications

• Proven cloud architecture and planning for hybrid on‑prem to AWS systems.
• Hands‑on with ECS, EKS, and OpenShift incl. Kubernetes, Helm, policies.
• Track record in integration, V&V, fielding for regulated environments (FISMA/FedRAMP).
• Security architecture experience with segmentation and SSP/ATO mapping.
• Experience with DevSecOps toolchains and cloud-native development.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud architecture for hybrid on‑prem to AWS designs across VPCs, GovCloud and regions.
• Conduct platform trade studies and sizing for ECS, EKS, OpenShift with cost/effort modeling.
• Drive integration, verification, validation, and fielding within FISMA High boundaries.
• Design security architecture with trust boundaries and access control mappings.
• Engineer networking patterns including ALB, WAF, PrivateLink, endpoints, and security considerations.
• Provide system and software design guidance within Scaled Agile teams.
• Lead hardware/software integration and cloud system design for Java/microservices ecosystems.
• Apply DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, SBOM, image signing, secrets mgmt.
