Job summary

SMX is seeking a Cloud Security Operations Analyst to support our Security Operations team responsible for managed security services of our customers' cloud-based infrastructures. The role involves guiding teams in evaluating cyber posture and developing monitoring solutions to counter emerging threats.

The candidate will help detect and mitigate threats using security tools, write knowledge base docs, and contribute to overall organizational improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or Computer Science.
• 2+ years of cybersecurity or cloud experience, preferably with SOC background.
• Experience with Unix, Linux or Windows OS and CLI proficiency.
• Cloud or virtualization experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with endpoint security tools and countering threat actors.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust and DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve system and network security monitoring capabilities and procedures.
• Monitor, triage, and notify clients of potential security incidents and tune sensors to reduce false positives.
• Implement endpoint security agent policies to meet defensive objectives.
• Support threat analysis based on log correlation and endpoint tools.
• Support contingency and incident response activities.
• Develop monthly and quarterly monitoring/alerting reports.
• Recommend improvements; protect customer data from unauthorized access.
• Create knowledge base documents to improve operations and SOPs.
