Job summary

Compass seeks a Senior Security Engineer, Cloud Security, to lead secure-by-default tooling and scalable cloud protections. You will automate security requirements, build guardrails, and partner with engineering to harden our cloud stack across web and mobile apps.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in security with cloud focus, strong AWS experience, and automation skills in Python or Go. The role emphasizes collaboration, threat modeling, and proactive risk handling in a fast-moving real estate

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a security-related role, with at least 2+ years focused on cloud security.
• Strong understanding of AWS (IAM, EC2, VPC, container services like ECR, ECS, EKS) with foundational Azure/GCP knowledge.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go) for automation.
• Knowledge of core security principles (least privilege, defense-in-depth, monitoring).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Empower engineers with safe-by-default tooling and guardrails.
• Design and implement scalable controls to secure cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to deploy security enhancements across cloud infrastructure.
• Build high-trust partnerships across the Engineering organization.
• Assist in security event response and guidance to improve practices.
• Perform security assessments for third-party integrations and emerging AI tools.
