Job summary

Illumio in Sunnyvale, CA is hiring a software engineer to build containerized microservices for a distributed, multi-tenant system that ingests data from multiple clouds. You will focus on Go, SQL, and Kubernetes, while mentoring teammates and owning features from design through deployment.

You will work on real-time data processing and security recommendations, with exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and networking basics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent degree.
• 4+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems.
• Experience with AWS / Azure / GCP cloud platforms at API level.
• K8s based platform experience and containerized services.

Responsibilities

• Develop containerized (micro) services for a distributed multi-tenant system.
• Design and defend architecture; deliver rock-solid implementation.
• Mentor junior engineers, new-grads, and interns to grow as engineers.
• Write code primarily in Go; work with data pipelines using SQL or similar interfaces; leverage Kubernetes.
• Own features and subsystems end-to-end from requirements to deployment and usage by customers.
• Own operational aspects of the system and write better, more maintainable software.
• Ensure code quality through early testing and robust CI.
• Collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements and exceed customer expectations.
• Develop deep understanding of customer problems via stakeholder interactions.
