Job summary

Rocket Lab is hiring a Principal Cloud Security Engineer to join our onsite Long Beach team. You will design and implement security controls across hybrid cloud environments, automate security tasks, and support design reviews.

You will work with IAM, CI/CD, and security tooling to safeguard production and non-production systems. The role requires deep cloud security expertise, scripting and IaC skills, and experience with government compliance standards.

Qualifications

• 16+ years of total work experience with IT roles and security focus.
• Experience securing cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CICD pipelines.
• Familiarity with government compliance (NIST, DISA STIG) and ITIL/Change Review.
• Hands-on with vulnerability management and CLI scanning tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain security controls for hybrid cloud environments.
• Develop custom automation to support cyber team objectives.
• Support security reviews and risk assessments for infra and pipelines.
• Manage IAM solutions and cloud access controls.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps, SDLC, and MLOps for secure delivery.
• Lead security audits, compliance reviews, and incident guidance.
