Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer II with a active Secret clearance to design, implement, and maintain security for SDA programs from Long Beach, CA. You will lead security across networks, servers, and applications, perform regular assessments, and advance policy and incident response in a fast-paced space environment.

The role requires 8+ years in security engineering, experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), and strong knowledge of NIST/ISO/CIS controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or Info Security.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions for IT infrastructure (networks, servers, apps).
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and pen tests.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and compliance.
• Monitor security systems and respond to incidents with remediation.
• Collaborate with IT/dev teams to embed security in SDLC.
• Stay current with security trends and propose enhancements.
• Mentor junior security engineers and IT staff.
