Job summary

EY seeks a senior infrastructure engineer to act as a technical authority for cloud foundations and AI-assisted engineering across production workloads. You will guide architecture, performance, resilience, and cost decisions while coupling hands-on execution with governance and reviews.

The role emphasizes building reusable patterns, validating AI-generated outputs, and driving reliability across multiple use cases with up to 50% travel in a hybrid model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• 9–12+ years of production-level cloud/infrastructure experience.
• Experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, platform, or site­reliability capabilities in production.
• Proven record of solving complex distributed-system problems and explaining why the chosen solution will work.
• Hands-on expertise with infrastructure as code, modern runtime platforms, networking, identity, and delivery automation.
• Production reliability: defining service objectives and using observability, capacity planning, and recovery testing.
• Strong coding skills and ability to validate AI-generated outputs independently.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work in a hybrid capacity

Responsibilities

• Build shared cloud foundations: create reusable infrastructure, environment patterns, and deployment automation.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering responsibly: review, debug, test, and validate code produced by AI/tools.
• Review architectures, migrations, and releases with trade-offs for reliability, security, performance, and cost.
• Define evidence required before launch and ensure readiness of each service.
• Establish service objectives, observability standards, alerts, and operational reviews.
• Test workload assumptions and use evidence to guide scaling and architecture decisions.
• Lead deep investigations across distributed services and root-cause analysis.
• Design performance tests, failure simulations, and recovery exercises.
• Publish reference implementations, guidance, and runbooks with clear limitations.
• Coach engineers and transition proven capabilities to ongoing ownership
