Job summary

EY is seeking a senior cloud engineer to advance AI-enabled services with secure, observable foundations and cost-aware workloads. You’ll act as the hands-on authority for engineering practices that move services from experimentation to dependable production.

This role demands problem-solving across architecture, performance, resilience, and cost, with leadership in reliability, observability, and scalable automation, while traveling up to 50% and embracing a hybrid or remote work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• 9+ years of relevant experience in cloud/infrastructure
• Experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, platform, or site reliability capabilities in production
• Technical depth: solving complex distributed-system problems and explaining solutions
• Cloud engineering: hands-on with infrastructure as code, runtime platforms, networking, delivery automation
• Production reliability: defining service objectives and using observability/capacity/recovery testing to improve live systems
• Incident leadership: investigating failures, supporting response, and durable remediation
• Automation judgment: strong coding skills and ability to validate AI-generated output
• Cross-team influence: mentoring engineers and guiding architecture decisions
• Travel and On-site requirements: up to 50% travel and hybrid office ability

Responsibilities

• Build shared cloud foundations, reusable infrastructure, and deployment automation.
• Use AI-assisted engineering responsibly with code review, debugging, testing, and validation.
• Guide complex designs through architecture reviews, migrations, and releases.
• Strengthen production readiness with evidence and change management.
• Set reliability practices, service objectives, observability, alerts, and operational reviews.
• Make cost and capacity visible with data-driven scaling decisions.
• Resolve difficult failures with deep investigation across distributed services.
• Prove resilience via performance tests, failure simulations, and rollback paths.
• Publish reference implementations and runbooks.
• Raise engineering capability by coaching engineers and transitioning capabilities.
