Job summary

EY seeks a senior cloud engineer to lead AI-enabled, production-grade infrastructure efforts. You will build reusable cloud foundations, apply AI-assisted tooling, and guide architectures, reliability, and cost across diverse use cases.

You will review designs, drive production readiness, and mentor teams while ensuring secure, observable, and scalable systems. The role requires strong coding, incident leadership, and up to 50% travel in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• 9–12+ years of relevant experience in cloud engineering or site reliability.
• Substantial experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, platform, or SRE capabilities in production.
• A track record of solving complex distributed-system problems and explaining why the solution will work.
• Hands-on expertise with infrastructure as code, modern runtimes, networking, identity, and delivery automation.
• Experience defining service objectives and using observability, capacity planning, and recovery testing.
• Evidence of investigating difficult failures and turning lessons into durable remediation.
• Strong coding skills and ability to validate AI-generated outputs independently.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work in a hybrid capacity.

Responsibilities

• Build shared cloud foundations with reusable infrastructure and deployment automation.
• Apply AI tools to accelerate development while reviewing and validating code.
• Review architectures, migrations, and releases for reliability and cost trade‑offs.
• Define evidence required before launch and ensure production readiness.
• Establish service objectives, observability standards, and actionable alerts.
• Test workload assumptions and guide scaling and architecture decisions.
• Lead deep investigations across distributed services and verify root causes.
• Design resilience tests, recovery exercises, and rollback paths.
• Publish reference implementations and runbooks for ongoing use.
