Job summary

EY seeks a senior cloud engineering leader to serve as the hands-on technical authority for building secure, observable, and cost-aware cloud foundations. You will use AI-assisted tools to accelerate infrastructure work, verify results, and guide architecture, performance, resilience, and cost decisions across multiple use cases.

This role involves substantial work on complex distributed systems, defining service objectives, and leading investigations into difficult failures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• 9-12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, platform, or site reliability capabilities in production.
• Strong record of solving complex distributed-system problems and explaining why the solution will work.
• Hands-on infrastructure as code, modern runtime platforms, networking, identity, and delivery automation.
• Experience defining service objectives and using observability, capacity planning, and recovery testing to improve live systems.
• Evidence of investigating difficult failures, supporting response, and converting lessons into durable remediation.
• Experience operating model-serving, retrieval, or agent workloads with demanding reliability and performance needs.

Responsibilities

• Build shared cloud foundations. Create reusable infrastructure, environment patterns, and deployment automation.
• Use AI-assisted engineering responsibly. Review, debug, test, and validate code.
• Guide complex designs. Review architectures, migrations, and releases.
• Strengthen production readiness. Define evidence required before launch.
• Set reliability practices. Establish service objectives and observability standards.
• Make cost and capacity visible. Use performance data to guide scaling decisions.
• Resolve difficult failures. Lead deep investigations and test durable fixes.
• Prove resilience. Design performance tests and recovery exercises.
• Turn lessons into reusable capabilities. Publish reference implementations and runbooks.
• Raise engineering capability. Coach engineers and transition capabilities to owners.
