Job summary

Pegasystems is seeking a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to join the Service Reliability Team. You will ensure reliability, availability, performance, and security of our cloud platforms, with a global follow‑the‑sun model and 3pm–12am ET swing shifts after training. U.S.

citizenship is required due to FedRAMP work. You will own runbooks, automate toil, and work with Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Security, and Customer Support to deliver resilient, scalable infrastructure for SaaS

Qualifications

• 3 years supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure or cloud operations for SaaS platforms.
• 2 years of hands-on experience operating AWS infrastructure services (GCP a plus).
• 2 years of Linux systems administration experience with AWS services (EC2, EBS, S3).
• Experience with ELB, VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53 and high availability environments.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and scripting (Bash, Shell, Python).
• Exposure to networking concepts and certifications (CCNA/CCNP a plus, not required).

Responsibilities

• Monitor, respond to, and resolve infrastructure alerts and changes within SLA.
• Own escalations with a focus on stability and service restoration.
• Provision, operate, and upgrade cloud infrastructure components across compute/storage/platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis for long-term fixes.
• Create and improve runbooks, SOPs, and operational standards.
• Collaborate on pre-release validation and operational readiness of new capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and reduce toil.
• Participate in infrastructure projects and on-call rotations, including weekends.
• Support FedRAMP-compliant environments; US citizenship required.
