Job summary

Pegasystems is seeking a cloud operations engineer to ensure high-availability cloud services. Remote from the US, you will monitor customer environments, manage incidents, and collaborate with global teams to meet SLA commitments.

The role requires Kubernetes and AWS experience, Linux administration, and the ability to support, monitor, and optimize cloud-based applications and databases. A formal cloud certification is required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years administering Kubernetes in enterprise environments.
• 1–2 years administering Linux in enterprise-scale environments.
• 1–2 years hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting cloud applications, databases, and infrastructure (e.g., Java apps, Tomcat, PostgreSQL, DNS, VPN).
• Cloud Certification: AWS or GCP (Required).

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor customer environments.
• Handle alerts, incidents, service requests and changes within SLA.
• Access, analyze and prioritize tickets, follow SOPs for known issues, escalate when required.
• Execute tasks including monitoring service health, restarting client environments, handling logs, increasing storage, whitelisting IPs, troubleshooting access, deploying system updates and patches, running queries and scripts.
• Handle incoming customer calls, triage tickets and route to Cloud and Product teams.
• Identify opportunities for automation of repeated operational tasks and reduce toil.
• Adapt to changing business goals.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation including weekend shifts.
