Job summary

Altana Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for regulated and sovereign environments across AWS and Azure.

You will own IaC, Kubernetes, and release tooling, and guide design reviews, security compliance, and audits while mentoring engineers in a distributed, multi-region setup. Responsibilities

• Own architecture and operation of regulated environments across AWS/Azure, IaC, Kubernetes, and release tooling.
• Lead standardization of environment builds into a repeatable blueprint to scale environments with minimal headcount.
• Ensure security/compliance through design reviews, RFCs, prototypes, and audits.
• Hands-on engineering involvement with operational tooling or greenfield projects.
• Collaborate with Security and Compliance to embed secure-by-default patterns and evidence in outputs.
• Maintain accreditation health, SLA-aligned remediation, and regular access reviews.
• Oversee multi-region, high-availability infrastructure with blue/green deployments.
• Represent team in audits and customer engagements about security posture and data residency.
• Plan realistic commitments and provide go-live dates for cross-functional teams.
• Build runbooks, docs, capacity plans, on-call coverage, and incident response processes.
• Own cost management and optimization of environments.
• Translate regulatory constraints for product and commercial planning.
• Foster strong cross-team relationships and deliberate written communication.
• Lead and develop engineers across distributed time zones; manage performance and hiring.
