Job summary

Altana is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for regulated and sovereign environments, including FedRAMP. You will drive architecture, IaC, Kubernetes, and release tooling across US, UK, and Australia, reporting to the Senior Director of Platform Engineering.

You will partner with Security and Compliance to embed secure-by-default practices, maintain accreditations, and own cost and planning across a distributed team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating cloud infrastructure in production
• Experience delivering into regulated government environments such as FedRAMP or equivalent
• Strong IaC skills and hands-on Kubernetes experience
• Able to lead across time zones and align multiple teams

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and operation of regulated environments across AWS/Azure and IaC tooling
• Lead standardization of environment builds into repeatable blueprints
• Ensure sound technical decisions through reviews and RFCs
• Stay hands-on with operational tooling or greenfield projects
• Collaborate with Security and Compliance to embed secure-by-default patterns
• Maintain accreditations, vulnerability remediation, and data-handling obligations
• Support infrastructure with high SLAs and multi-region redundancy
• Represent the team in audits and customer-facing security discussions
• Own planning processes and provide go-live dates to stakeholders
• Build runbooks, docs, capacity planning, on-call, and incident response
• Manage cost of environments and report on controls to optimize efficiency
• Translate constraints into product/commercial planning terms
• Foster cross-functional relationships across Implementations, Security, DevEx, and product engineering
• Lead, coach, and grow engineers with performance management and career development
• Manage a distributed team across time zones
• Develop hiring pipelines with Recruiting
