Job summary

Cboe Global Markets, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Cloud Operations team in the United States. You will design, automate, and operate cloud-native infrastructure for trading, data and clearing platforms.

You will lead project delivery, shape processes, and raise the technical depth of the team. Responsibilities include building a globally distributed IaC platform, deploying Kubernetes workloads, and enabling GitOps workflows with Argo CD.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS and GCP preferred).
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes (EKS, GKE) and GitOps (Argo CD).
• Experience using Terraform, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and scripting languages (Python).
• Strong experience supporting containerized Linux systems.
• Strong understanding of networking, IAM, observability, and AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda).
• Familiarity with secrets management (HashiCorp Vault).
• Experience designing fault-tolerant systems with on-call responsibilities.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate globally distributed cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Collaborate with Cloud Platform Engineering and app teams to engineer infra for cloud apps.
• Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes-based platforms and workflows (EKS, GKE, Argo CD).
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and infra automation.
• Perform system and database maintenance, including deployment, backups, patching, and upgrades.
• Maintain cloud environments via incident response, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Participate in on-call rotations and ensure operational readiness.
• Lead cloud infra projects end-to-end from design through delivery.
• Communicate status, blockers and risks to stakeholders and leadership.
• Lead design reviews and provide technical direction to engineers.
• Define patterns and standards for platform consistency and maintainability.
• Collaborate with development, security and operations to ensure secure, compliant systems.
• Create documentation for infra designs, SOPs, and support runbooks.
