Job summary

Cboe is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Cloud Operations team in Chicago. You will design, automate, and operate cloud-native infrastructure for trading and data platforms, leading projects and setting technical standards.

You will build secure cloud infrastructure, support runtime environments, and collaborate with engineers, security, and operations to ensure reliability and compliance. This role emphasizes on-call readiness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP).
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating fault-tolerant systems with on-call responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of networking, IAM, cloud observability, and common cloud services (VPC, EC2, S3, etc.).
• Hands-on Terraform, CI/CD tools, and scripting (Python).
• Big on Kubernetes (EKS/GKE) and GitOps (Argo CD).
• Collaborative communicator across engineering, security, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain globally distributed cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Collaborate with Cloud Platform Engineering and application teams to design scalable infra solutions.
• Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes platforms and workloads (EKS/GKE) with GitOps (Argo CD).
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Perform system and database maintenance, incident response, and performance tuning.
• Participate in on-call rotations and drive platform improvements.
