Cboe Global Markets, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for the Cloud Operations team to design, automate, and run cloud-native infrastructure that underpins trading, clearing, and data solutions.

You will lead initiatives across AWS and GCP, applying IaC, Kubernetes, and GitOps to deliver secure, scalable platforms. You will own complex workstreams end-to-end, mentor engineers, collaborate with security and apps teams, and champion reliability through on-call readiness and incident

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS & GCP preferred).
• Hands-on Kubernetes (EKS, GKE) and GitOps (Argo CD).
• Deep Terraform, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and Python scripting.
• Strong experience with containerized apps and Linux systems.
• Networking, IAM, observability, and services like VPC, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda.
• Vault for secrets management; fault-tolerant, on-call capable design.
• Collaboration and communication with engineers, security, and operations.
• Commitment to continuous learning and coaching engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a globally distributed cloud infra platform using IaC (Terraform).
• Collaborate with Cloud Platform Engineering and app teams to engineer infra solutions.
• Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes platforms/workloads (EKS, Cluster API), with Argo CD.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and infra automation.
• Perform system and database maintenance: deployment, backup/restoration, patching, upgrades.
• Maintain cloud environments via incident response, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Participate in on-call rotations and ensure operational readiness.
• Drive retrospectives to improve platform scalability and supportability.
• Lead end-to-end cloud infra projects from design through delivery.
• Own complex workstreams – scope, sequencing, hand-off to ops.
• Communicate status, blockers, and risks to stakeholders and leadership.
• Lead design discussions and provide technical direction to engineers.
• Define and evolve platform patterns and standards for consistency.
• Collaborate with development, security, and ops to ensure security/compliance.
• Create and maintain clear docs – designs, SOPs, and runbooks for engineers/support staff.
