Job summary

Consumer Cellular is building a new cloud-native platform on Amazon Web Services, and we are hiring Senior Software Engineers to build the services that run on it. This is a hands-on product engineering role.

You will design and ship the APIs and event-driven services behind our customer-facing digital experiences—account management, activation, billing, and self-service—using a serverless-first architecture on AWS.

Qualifications

Five+ years building and operating backend services in production.
Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript/Node and willingness to work in both.
Hands-on AWS experience including IAM, networking, and at least one managed AWS data service.
Experience designing REST APIs and integrating distributed systems.
Relational data modeling and SQL experience.
Familiar with Git-based workflows and automated testing.
Proven debugging skills in distributed systems using logs, metrics, and traces.

Responsibilities

Design and build production services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and EventBridge.
Model data across DynamoDB, Aurora DSQL, DocumentDB, and S3.
Own what you ship; instrument, dashboards, and runbooks; on-call rotation.
Design for failure with retries, idempotency, and partial failure handling.
Work in a modern delivery pipeline with GitHub Actions and IaC tooling.
Contribute to platform standards and documentation; enable migration patterns.
