Job summary

Avaloq's R&D Lab in Fort Lauderdale is building a SaaS, API-first, composable banking platform. As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will help design and operate the AWS foundation and the developer experience so product teams can ship quickly and securely.

This role involves working with the Zurich team, driving Well-Architected reviews, and shaping observability, FinOps, and IAM strategies across a multi-tenant environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in platform engineering, cloud infra or DevOps with hands-on AWS
• IaC experience with Terraform or OpenTofu including multi-account / landing zones
• Clear view on observability for distributed systems and reasoning behind it
• Strong automation and scripting; language-agnostic (Rust/TypeScript/Python)
• Excellent collaboration with product teams and ability to influence them

Responsibilities

• Design and operate multi-tenant AWS environment with guardrails and network baselines
• Build and maintain IaC modules and landing zones
• Shape observability approach for a distributed serverless system
• Contribute to FinOps: cost visibility, per-tenant attribution, cost tuning
• Support identity federation and production workload security
• Participate in on-call rotation and promote platform-as-a-product mindset
