Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to operate enterprise infrastructure across air-gapped AWS partitions.

You will design, build, and ship serverless and containerized services using Lambda, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, SQS, and EventBridge, with multi-region deployments. You’ll own CI/CD pipelines, write infrastructure as code with CDK/CloudFormation, and develop automation in Python and PowerShell.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, PowerShell, Ruby
• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• 2+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain serverless and containerized systems across AWS partitions.
• Write and maintain infrastructure as code (CDK/CloudFormation) for multi-region deployments.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation across regions.
• Build monitoring, alarming, and observability tooling for service health across air-gapped boundaries.
• Write Python and PowerShell to automate operational processes and integrate systems.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, ORRs.
• Coach teammates on engineering best practices and operational excellence.
• Provide on-call support
