Job summary

nCino, the world leader in cloud banking, seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to advance our cloud infrastructure. You will design and operate AWS services (ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Kubernetes), implement IaC with CDK, and drive secure, scalable platform capabilities across product teams.

You will mentor engineers, lead POC initiatives, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Argo CD) while controlling costs and maintaining reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in teams
• Excellent communication skills for technical leadership and collaboration

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CDK.
• Own and operate core AWS services including ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and Kubernetes.
• Manage ingress/edge architectures with AWS WAF, CloudFront, load balancers, DNS, and TLS at scale.
• Collaborate with application teams to enable scalable platform capabilities and lead POCs.
• Provide architectural guidance on scalability, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement security best practices and support compliance like SOC2 and PCI.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (GitLab CI, Argo CD)
• Monitor and optimize cloud costs while maintaining performance
• Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for production issues
• Mentor engineers on AWS best practices and IaC techniques
• Write clean, maintainable code and conduct thorough reviews
• Develop automated testing strategies for infrastructure code
• Stay current with AWS updates and cloud-native patterns
• Document architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures
• Foster cross-functional collaboration and strategic planning around infra roadmap
