Job summary

NCino, Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer in Cloud Infrastructure to design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using IaC (AWS CDK).

You will own core services (ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Kubernetes), manage edge architectures (CloudFront, WAF, DNS), and collaborate with application teams to deliver reliable platform capabilities. You will provide architectural guidance, mentor engineers, and help implement secure, cost-efficient solutions while contributing to CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Proficient in at least one major programming language.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools (AWS CDK, or similar).
• Own and operate core AWS services including ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Manage ingress and edge architectures with AWS WAF, CloudFront, load balancers, DNS, and TLS at scale.
• Collaborate with application teams to translate needs into scalable, reliable platform capabilities.
• Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership on infrastructure design decisions.
• Implement and maintain security best practices across AWS infrastructure, including IAM, network security, encryption, and access controls.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation; familiarity with GitLab CI and Argo CD is desirable.
• Monitor and optimize cloud costs while maintaining performance and reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response for production infrastructure issues.
• Lead proofs-of-concept to validate new AWS services or infrastructure patterns.
• Mentor team members on AWS best practices and cloud-native design patterns.
• Write clean, maintainable code and conduct thorough reviews.
• Develop automated testing strategies for infrastructure code.
• Address technical debt and improve developer experience.
• Stay current with AWS updates and document architecture and runbooks.
