Job summary

Huxley is seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Manager to own and evolve our internal IT and cloud environment, balancing strategy with hands-on execution in a true cloud-native setup.

You’ll lead Azure PaaS/IaaS deployments, enforce security, governance, and cost controls, and partner with engineering and business teams to shape platform decisions. This remote US role reports to the IT leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience leading IT operations in a mid-sized organization.
• Hands-on experience in IAM, endpoint management, and security operations.
• Proven ability to support audit and compliance requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.
• High ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize our Azure environment for security, governance, and cost efficiency.
• Establish standards for subscriptions, RBAC, tagging, and resource management.
• Improve reliability, observability, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Manage end-to-end identity lifecycle (joiners, movers, leavers).
• Maintain secure, auditable access controls and privileged access practices.
• Lead access reviews and ensure audit traceability.
• Define incident escalation paths and response processes.
• Implement practical security baselines (MFA, conditional access, patching, monitoring).
• Proactively identify and remediate gaps.
• Maintain a system of record for all business applications and services.
• Partner with engineering and business teams on platform decisions.
• Understand dependencies across SaaS and cloud ecosystems.
• Improve escalation models and operational workflows.
• Step into complex or high‑impact issues when needed.
• Own IT audit readiness (e.g., SOX, SOC 2).
• Ensure controls are documented, executed, and evidenced.
• Partner with finance and compliance stakeholders.
