Job summary

Hone is seeking a Staff Cloud Engineer to lead cloud infrastructure across our healthcare platform. You will set long-term strategy, establish standards, and mentor engineers while delivering complex infrastructure initiatives from concept to production.

Responsibilities include owning Pulumi-based infrastructure, building CI/CD pipelines, enforcing security baselines, and driving GitOps maturity. Remote-first environment with high visibility and impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of cloud engineering or DevOps experience
• 5+ years on Microsoft Azure in production
• Hands-on Pulumi IaC experience or equivalent
• Expert CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
• Mastery of core Azure services: AKS, App Service, Functions, Storage
• Proficiency in Python/TypeScript/PowerShell/Bash
• Strong GitOps and change-management practices
• Production-grade Docker/Kubernetes experience
• HIPAA compliance familiarity and security best practices
• Excellent written/verbal communication and leadership

Responsibilities

• Define and own Hone's multi-year cloud infrastructure strategy on Microsoft Azure
• Lead architecture and delivery of complex infra initiatives across regions
• Architect and provision cloud infrastructure using Pulumi
• Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
• Define and enforce infra standards: tagging, cost governance, security
• Drive GitOps maturity with PR-based changes and audit trails
• Collaborate with Engineering/Product/Security to map roadmaps
• Mentor senior/mid engineers and conduct architecture reviews
• Partner with security/compliance for HIPAA-configured cloud setups
• Own disaster recovery strategy and chaos engineering programs
• Improve observability and establish SLO/SLA for critical services
• Evaluate emerging cloud-native services and present exec-level briefs
• Contribute to engineering community via talks/docs/reviews
