Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team in a remote-first environment.

You will mentor engineers, contribute as a technical lead, and help set technical direction while delivering cloud-native solutions on modern platforms. Join a client-facing consultancy that values human-centered design, secure cloud infrastructure, and long-term impact for government partners.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years in agile, multidisciplinary teams, preferably designing and building cloud platforms.
• Experience designing production-grade cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and containerized deployment.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, using JDBC and ORM mappers like Hibernate.
• DevOps experience, preferably with Jenkins CI/CD.
• Experience using AWS cloud native services and data engineering.
• Ability to think strategically around trade-offs and balance technical debt with milestones.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship needed.
• May be subject to government background check or security clearance, depending on contract.

Responsibilities

• Writing code and performing code reviews.
• Writing and reviewing technical specifications.
• Collaborating with cross-functional product teams to identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Guiding the engineering team on planning, estimation, prioritization, and trade-offs.
• Review architecture and designs from other project teams.
• Strategizing with leadership on project growth.
• Attending conferences and networking with potential clients.
