Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Senior+ Software Engineer for the Legal Tech team to build secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and data pipelines. You will own end-to-end scope—from requirements to production systems—that support legal invariants and auditable results.

You’ll collaborate with Privacy, Security, Research, and Infra teams, translating legal and privacy needs into robust technical designs while guiding colleagues on timelines and trade-offs.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and operating highly trusted infrastructure and data systems in production.
• Ability to translate legal and privacy requirements into sound technical designs and implementations.
• Ownership of a cloud account end to end (networking, storage, identity, encryption, least-privilege provisioning) on AWS and/or GCP.
• Clear communication with nontechnical stakeholders and understanding of their needs.
• Habit of verifying invariants and naming what isn’t proved rather than assuming.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate dedicated cloud infrastructure, storage, and data pipelines for specialized workloads that can't run on general-purpose systems.
• Design architectures with security, privacy, reliability, scalability, and auditability baked in.
• Translate requirements into sound approaches and realistic ETAs across internal teams.
• Deliver against fixed deadlines and complex requests on controlled infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to extend existing infrastructure for new workflows and legal requests.
• Explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders to inform decisions.
