Job summary

Anthropic seeks a Senior+ Software Engineer for its Legal Tech team to build secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and data pipelines. You will own end-to-end scope from requirements to production, ensuring auditable and interpretable systems that support legal invariants.

You will collaborate with Privacy, Security, Research, and Infra teams and act as a trusted advisor to inform legal decisions while shipping capabilities on timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and operating trusted infrastructure and data systems in production.
• Experience across large, complex, multi-team environments with code you don’t own.
• Ability to own and secure a cloud account (networking, storage, identity, encryption) on AWS and/or GCP.
• Translate legal and privacy requirements into technical designs that teams adopt.
• Design checks for invariants and clearly name what isn’t proved.
• Self-directed in a high-change environment and adaptable to new needs.
• Clear communication with nontechnical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate dedicated cloud infrastructure, storage, and data pipelines for specialized workloads.
• Design architectures with security, privacy, reliability, scalability, and auditability baked in.
• Partner with internal teams to translate requirements into sound approaches and ETAs.
• Deliver against fixed deadlines.
• Support complex legal requests on controlled infrastructure with verifiable chain of custody.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to extend infrastructure for new workflows and legal needs.
• Engage nontechnical stakeholders with clear, responsive dialogue.
