Job summary

Leidos in Reston, Virginia is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a government contractor team. The ideal candidate will architect secure, scalable cloud solutions across AWS GovCloud and Azure, with strong emphasis on DoD RMF/NIST controls and secure hybrid connectivity.

The role involves IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation, managing VPCs and secure network enclsaves, and supporting Kubernetes workloads in a regulated environment. A TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Requires TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship.
• BS degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or MS with 6–10 years; Doctorate possible.
• Designing/operating in AWS GovCloud (US) or Azure.
• Hands-on AWS core services: EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Route53, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS.
• Terraform or CloudFormation experience.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or GitHub Actions.
• Windows Server AD experience; security/compliance focus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deploy secure, scalable cloud solutions for unclassified and classified environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure).
• Ensure hybrid connectivity and secure data replication between unclassified and classified enclaves.
• Provision and maintain IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Configure and troubleshoot VPCs, subnets, routing, SGs, NACs, load balancers, DNS, VPNs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads with Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Administer air-gapped on-premises resources, users, and access controls in Windows/Linux environments.
• Audit and enforce RMF, NIST, and CIS/STIG controls across cloud and on‑prem resources.
• Provide root-cause analysis, monitoring, and secure operations for degraded systems.
