Job summary

SAIC seeks a skilled Cloud Engineer to support IT Service Management for USTRANSCOM at Scott AFB, Illinois. You will design, deploy, and optimize secure cloud architectures and lead migrations into AWS/Azure, focusing on security, scalability, and operational excellence.

In this role you will apply scripting (PowerShell/Bash), manage DoD cloud policies (IL5/IL6), and work with AD forests, STIGs, and ITSM tool suites, collaborating with senior leaders to deliver mission-critical cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) and 4+ years of experience in cloud engineering, IT systems, or related fields.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• AWS Cloud Engineer Certification and experience operating AWS environments.
• IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CEH, CCNA-Security, CySA+ , GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP).
• Computing Environment Certification for Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Oracle, etc.). Azure certifications preferred.
• Expertise in AWS GovCloud services and IL5/IL6 environments.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and command-line administration.
• PowerShell/Bash scripting and automation.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) tool suites and Active Directory forests, enclave domain systems, and STIGs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement next-generation commercial cloud architectures with focus on security, scalability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
• Lead migration, re-platforming, and integration of applications into cloud environments, emphasizing modernization and automation.
• Apply expertise in AWS, Azure, Linux, scripting, and ITSM tools to create efficiencies for mission success.
• Ensure adherence to DoD cloud computing policies (IL5/IL6 Commercial Cloud Service Offerings).
• Test, troubleshoot, and optimize complex cloud/virtualization systems while keeping pace with tech advances.
• Conduct strategic analysis and provide actionable recommendations to maximize performance and minimize costs.
• Assist with configuration management, hardening system security controls, and leveraging AD forests, Group Policies, and STIGs to enforce compliance.
