Job summary

By Light Professional IT Services LLC is seeking a senior cloud architect/engineer to lead and deliver cloud-based solutions for USTRANSCOM. You will oversee design, migration, and operation of complex cloud environments, with emphasis on security, scalability, and DoD compliance.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in cloud engineering, strong AWS/Azure expertise, and experience guiding teams in DoD or government settings. On-site work at Scott AFB with after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering.
• IAT Level III certifications or equivalent in security/compliance domains.
• Proven track record designing and deploying cloud solutions for DoD or government environments.
• Proficient in Red Hat Linux and cloud security best practices.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud deployments, including networking and security policies.
• Strong ability to mentor junior staff and work in a team.
• Familiarity with DoD cloud policy guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on design of cloud architectures for enterprise environments.
• Plan, migrate, re-platform, integrate, implement, and operate complex cloud environments.
• Ensure CSO offerings align with DoD policy and security guidelines.
• Evaluate and select hardware/software and migration strategies with data-driven recommendations.
• Develop and test cloud and virtualization systems.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with senior management on strategic plans.
