Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain and improve on-premise and cloud databases, optimize SQL, and resolve incidents. You will work with Architecture, QA, and Infrastructure to ensure security, performance, and reliability across large data systems.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of database experience, strong SQL skills, and hands-on Azure cloud DB experience, with a focus on high-volume production environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years database analysis, programming or similar experience.
• Minimum 4 years as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• Extensive hands-on experience in SQL Server 2016 and higher.
• Cloud-based database experience in Azure using Managed Instance and Azure SQL options.
• Extensive experience with large databases (2+ TB).
• Experience writing complex database procedures, functions and triggers.
• Familiarity with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Lake Storage, Synapse Analytics, or other cloud-native platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects in on-premise and cloud databases.
• Optimize queries and procedures; develop efficient, optimal SQL code.
• Lead investigation and resolution of database incidents including blocking and deadlocks.
• Assist in building and maintaining database monitoring infrastructure for alerts and dashboards.
• Support database security and compliance using encryption, masking, and related tools.
• Collaborate with Architecture, QA, Application Development, and Infrastructure teams.
