Job summary

REGED INC is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain and improve SQL Server systems across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will design objects, optimize performance, and lead incident resolution with a focus on security and reliability.

You will collaborate with Architecture, QA, and Infrastructure teams, ensuring standards and best practices. Remote/hybrid work with extensive Azure experience is required, and a strong track record in OLTP/OLAP is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years database analysis, programming or similar experience.
• Minimum 4 years as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• Extensive hands-on experience in SQL Server 2016+
• Cloud-based databases in Azure (Managed Instance, SQL Hyperscale, SQL DB, VMs)
• Experience with complex database procedures, functions and triggers
• Understanding of execution plans and dynamic SQL
• Strong knowledge of database structures and theory
• Proven ability to optimize OLTP and OLAP performance
• Experience with HADR technologies (Always On, log shipping, backups)
• Experience with monitoring dashboards (SSMS, Grafana, PowerBI)
• Familiarity with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL
• Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics or cloud native platforms

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects across on‑premise and cloud databases.
• Review and approve complex structural changes to the database.
• Optimize queries and create efficient SQL code for performance.
• Lead investigation and resolution of database incidents and escalations.
• Implement monitoring, alerts, and dashboards for performance and reliability.
• Support database security and compliance using encryption and masking tools.
• Advise on retention, tiering, and archive strategies for production databases.
• Collaborate with Architecture, QA, and Dev teams on standards.
