Job summary

Pegasystems Poland is seeking a skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to ensure reliability and availability of our cloud services. You will own database reliability, automate tasks, and work with multi-cloud platforms to deliver resilient systems.

You will collaborate with global teams, handle incidents within SLA, and contribute to root-cause analyses. The role requires deep expertise in PostgreSQL/MongoDB, AWS, Linux, and DevOps tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operational or engineering experience building production database systems.
• 5+ years of enterprise Linux administration.
• 2+ years of hands-on AWS experience; exposure to other clouds is a plus.
• Deep PostgreSQL server architecture knowledge and Admin tasks.
• Experience with AWS DMS and data migrations.
• Strong SQL skills; experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience configuring high availability, pooling, and load balancing.
• Basic TCP/IP/DNS/VPN network troubleshooting.
• Experience with Java technologies and web servers (Tomcat/Apache/Nginx/IIS).
• Scripting in Python or Bash for automation.

Responsibilities

• Own database reliability, automation, and performance as we grow the platform.
• Handle alerts, incidents, service requests and changes within SLA.
• Own customer escalations and blameless post-mortems.
• Troubleshoot environment issues and perform root cause analyses.
• Use AWS DMS to migrate clients to Pega Cloud securely with minimal downtime.
• Influence product teams on defects and improvements for scalable services.
• Create and maintain runbooks and automate repeated tasks.
• Manage multiple projects and participate in on-call rotations.
