Job summary

Decisive Point Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join a high-performance team that migrates VA data to the cloud and maintains cloud-based databases. This 100% remote role offers a standard M-F schedule with EST hours and requires deep Oracle/SQL Server expertise and 8+ years of experience.

The successful candidate will ensure performance, security, backups, and disaster recovery while collaborating with developers and IT staff to keep systems stable and compliant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of database administration experience with Oracle and SQL Server.
• Advanced certifications preferred (Azure DB, OCP, AWS Specialty).
• Edifecs certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade DBMS.
• Create and manage database objects (tables, indexes, views, procedures).
• Monitor and tune database performance.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies and drills.
• Enforce database security policies and user access control.
• Collaborate with developers and admins to resolve issues.
• Maintain documentation for configurations and procedures.
