Job summary

VIATEQ is seeking a Database Administrator to support a Prime contractor and a federal civilian customer. The role is remote and requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Familiar with database security and access control practices.
• Understanding of ITSM ticketing and change management processes.
• Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced government IT environment.
• Excellent communication and ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day administration of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, and patching.
• Monitor database health, performance, and job scheduling, escalating issues to senior DBAs as needed.
• Execute routine backup and recovery procedures and support periodic disaster recovery testing.
• Support database user access requests, role management, and security auditing per policy.
• Assist with data migration tasks related to cloud modernization and data center consolidation.
• Write and optimize basic to intermediate SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
• Maintain documentation of database configurations, schedules, and SOPs.
• Respond to database-related incident tickets in ServiceNow and participate in root cause analysis.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours database support as needed.
