Job summary

Aptive seeks a Data Engineer to design and maintain enterprise-grade data pipelines powering healthcare analytics for the VA. Work spans cloud data engineering, data governance, and bidirectional data movement across VA warehouses, cloud workgroups, and operational systems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on SQL/Spark SQL, patient-matching expertise, and a track record in healthcare data environments. Clear communication with stakeholders and adherence to federal standards are required.

Qualifications

Eight or more years in data engineering with ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data environments.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
Implement patient-matching and record-linkage logic across identifiers.
Harmonize datasets across facilities to produce analysis-ready data assets.
Develop and maintain dataflow documentation and technical documentation.
Provide pipeline support, troubleshoot data quality issues, and optimize performance.
Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions, including Power BI with Databricks SparkSQL.
