Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a senior data engineer to own and scale data platforms that support the Falcon platform. You will work on fault-tolerant Java services, Spark/Flink data processing, and time-series/OLAP storage, enabling threat analytics for customers.

The role involves building scalable pipelines, collaborating across teams, and delivering features end-to-end. Hybrid work in multiple US locations with in-office days is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in CS, IT, Computer Engineering or equivalent (4+ years).
• 10+ years combined backend/cloud and data platform experience.
• 5+ years building data platforms or features with Spark, Flink or Ray or at-scale time-series/OLAP DBs such as Pinot, Clickhouse, Druid or Iceberg.
• 5+ years programming in Java, Scala or Kotlin (Python acceptable with relevant experience).
• Strong knowledge of JVM performance tuning and distributed systems design.
• Experience building large-scale data/event pipelines.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres/MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Test-driven development discipline.
• Proven ability to work with remote teams.
• Experience applying AI technologies to improve decision-making and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Write fault-tolerant Java code within Spark, Flink and OLAP/Time Series DBs for analytics platforms.
• Design and maintain ultra-high-scale data platforms processing petabytes of data.
• Participate in technical reviews and feature development for stability and new capabilities.
• Improve latency and efficiency of high-performance data services.
• Research and implement efficient data querying and result extraction for internal/external users.
