Job summary

CrowdStrike seeks a senior data platform engineer to shape the Analytics Data Platform and build a unified data catalog. You will design, implement, and optimize large-scale data systems powering batch and streaming analytics, with Spark and Flink as runtimes.

You will collaborate across teams, influence architecture, and mentor others while delivering high‑scale, reliable data services for customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 17+ years exp with B.S. in a related field
• 15+ years with M.S. in a related field
• 12+ years with PhD in a related field
• 100s of TB/day data platform/storage experience
• Experience tuning internals of Spark/Flink/Iceberg/Pinot or equivalent
• Production experience with Spark- or Flink-based self-service data platforms
• Strong SQL/NoSQL experience (Postgres/MySQL, Cassandra/DynamoDB)
• Experience with JVM languages (Java/Scala/Kotlin)
• Distributed systems design and SDLC experience
• Proficient Linux administration
• Experience using AI to improve decisions and workflows
• Ability to work with remote teams

Responsibilities

• Shape the vision of Analytics Data Platform growth and Unified Data Catalog
• Design, develop, and maintain a data platform processing petabytes of data
• Participate in technical reviews and help develop new features
• Improve service efficiency to delight customers
• Research and implement new query methods for internal and external users
