Job summary

CrowdStrike in Redmond, WA is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to scale our hyper-scale data lake and time-series platforms, enabling analytics and threat hunting across the Falcon platform.

You will work with Java microservices, Spark/Flink, and AWS/Kubernetes to build robust data pipelines and high-performance services.

This role requires 5+ years in data platform engineering, strong SQL/NoSQL experience, and end-to-end feature ownership in a distributed system.

Qualifications

• BS in CS, IT, Computer Engineering or commensurate experience (4+ years)
• 10+ years combined backend/cloud and data platform experience
• 5+ years building data platform products or features with Spark, Flink or Ray
• 5+ years programming with Java, Scala or Kotlin
• Strong knowledge of JVM performance tuning
• End-to-end feature/product ownership with vague specs
• Experience with large-scale data/event pipelines
• Expertise with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres/MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB)
• Good test-driven development discipline
• Experience with Linux administration
• Ability to work with remote teams
• Experience using AI to enhance decision-making and workflows

Responsibilities

• Write fault-tolerant Java code within Spark, Flink and data stores to produce platform products for analytics
• Design and maintain ultra-high-scale data platforms processing petabytes of data
• Participate in technical reviews and enhance stability
• Improve efficiency and reduce latency of high-performance services
• Research new ways to query data efficiently and deliver results as needed
