Job summary

The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) seeks an experienced Informatics Specialist to lead the deployment, support, and optimization of clinical applications, including Epic modules. You will develop end-user training and participate in validation, testing, and change management to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Responsibilities include overseeing software upgrades, coordinating workflows, maintaining data integrity, and mentoring staff across departments while adhering to UHealth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Nursing degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in clinical operations or healthcare IT.
• Epic certification in at least one core clinical application.
• Lean Certification.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Experience leading module implementations.

Responsibilities

• Lead management of clinical applications including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
• Develop end-user documentation and training materials.
• Oversee operational workflow validation, including detailed requirements gathering and user acceptance.
• Lead software upgrades and testing processes, including the creation and validation of detailed test plans.
• Coordinates and oversees software updates and changes, ensuring thorough testing and reporting of results.
• Ensures data accuracy and regulatory compliance through regular checks and audits.
• Develops and implements strategies to address change impacts and resistance, collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Leads the design, development, and implementation of system enhancements and new features.
• Manages database conversions and performs in-depth system analysis.
• Conducts advanced training sessions for users on complex applications and solutions.
• Handles SLA breaches and works with customers to resolve issues and ensure service quality.
• Leads and manages major projects related to system improvements and enhancements.
