Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is recruiting a Senior Clinical Coding Specialist for its Revenue Operations and Coding team. This remote role focuses on accurate coding of patient encounters to support timely billing and data integrity.

The ideal candidate has extensive CPT/ICD-10 knowledge, AHIMA/AAPC certifications, and at least five years of complex clinical coding experience in a professional setting. Collaboration with clinical partners and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years clinical coding experience for complex or multi-specialties.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA, CPC-A or COC certifications preferred upon hire.
• Experience with professional coding in a hospital/health system setting.

Responsibilities

• Review records, assign E/M CPT and ICD-10 codes accurately.
• Query physicians when documentation is incomplete or unclear.
• Ensure compliance with AHIMA/AAPC guidelines and HIPAA.
• Collaborate with coding team and management on improvements.
